LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Part of Interstate 64 eastbound was shut down because of a deadly crash Friday.
It happened Friday afternoon near the Fayette County and Scott County line. Police said six people were hurt and at least one killed.
Crews have been able to re-open one lane of I-64 eastbound, but there was still a big backup heading into Lexington for several hours.
Authorities said that a gray Ford Sedan lost control and crossed the median from the westbound lanes. The Sedan collided with a Nissan SUV in the eastbound lanes.
The Fayette Co. Cornor said that one person from the SUV was killed. He believes the victim is from out of state.
