FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) -- Half a dozen Kentucky State Park lodges are turning 50 years old this year.
The six resort park lodges are Kentucky Dam Village, Carter Caves, Lake Cumberland, Jenny Wiley, General Butler and Rough River.
Each of the six parks will be holding special events to celebrate their golden anniversaries later this year.
The first special event is set for Aug. 10-11 at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park in western Kentucky. The special events will continue through Oct. 19-20, when the 50-year event is planned at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park in eastern Kentucky.
