5 people taken to area hospitals after Grayson Co. accident

GRAYSON COUNTY, Ky. (WHAS11) – Five people are in the hospital, including two children, after an accident in Leitchfield involving three vehicles.

The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office says that witnesses saw a Mercury Cougar cross the median 10 times on Kentucky 259 Saturday night before it hit a Lincoln Navigator head on. The Lincoln then hit a truck that was parked nearby.

All four passengers in the Cougar were flown to hospitals in Louisville including a 6-year-old and a three-year-old.

The driver of the Cougar and the younger child are in critical condition. The driver of the Lincoln was also hurt.

According to police, the driver of the Cougar was not wearing a seatbelt and the three-year-old was not properly restrained.
