$23M indoor farm to grow in West Louisville

Tax incentives approved for food port

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Plans for the West Louisville Food Port project are moving forward, with construction set to begin in August at 30th and Market streets in the Russell neighborhood.

The project just received preliminary approval for tax incentives, for a 23 million-dollar indoor farm and 40 new workers.

It's called a "vertical farm," with 10 rows of organic greens and herbs, grown in hydroponic beds under lights.
