TEXAS -- An off-duty Bexar County Sheriff's deputy was shot in the shoulder Wednesday evening.
The deputy was in regular clothes and was with his wife, a real-estate agent, who was showing a home to a client, said Paul Berry, Bexar County Sheriff's Office spokesperson.
The group knocked on the door, but when no one answered, the deputy's wife opened the door and let everyone in.
The homeowner was actually home and taking a shower. She grabbed her gun after the alarm was triggered when the group walked inside.
The homeowner fired the gun once, shooting the deputy in the shoulder.
He was taken to University Hospital in stable condition.
