SPOKANE -- Social media played a big role in the Inauguration. In fact, Twitter users sent a million more tweets than in 2009.
People tweeted everything from parade pictures to comments about the First Lady's dress at the ball.
One of the day's top hashtags was #inaug2013. During the hour long ceremony, people sent about 1.1 million Inauguration tweets. This year was so jammed, at many times throughout the day, the website wouldn't load.
Twitter released data comparing 2013 to President Obama’s last inauguration in 2009, when people sent only 82,000 tweets during the ceremony.
