NEW DOUGLAS, Ill. (KMOV.com) – A convicted sex offender from New Douglas, Illinois is facing charges for exposing himself to a girl under 15-years-of age on a webcam.
Police say Michael Schuette, 27, was charged with attempted sexual misconduct on November 26.
According to reports, on June 11, Schuette accessed a chat room and connected with someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl. He had actually connected with a St. Louis County police officer who was posing as the young girl.
During the session, Schuette allegedly exposed himself and masturbated in front of the camera.
Police said Schuette has a 2007 conviction in Madison County, Illinois for possessing child pornography.
Authorities did not say if Schuette is in custody.
