LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) - A Louisville man has now pleaded guilty to killing a 3-year-old boy.

Roderick Moss, 21, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and wanton endangerment with a recommended sentence of 20 years in prison.

“I just feel like it’s not enough and it's crazy,” Rodericka Bryant, the mother of the boy killed, said. “It's absurd. I’m angry. I’m mad it's crazy the world we live in.”

Bryant and a group of friends were outside their apartment last May when Moss started shooting into their apartment on 8th Street near downtown Louisville. One of the bullets hit 3-year-old Davion Powell in the head, killing him. There were several other children in the home at the time.

Monday Moss pleaded guilty to firing the shots and said nothing else.

“The time they have given him ... he's a baby killer, and so no amount of time could justify the wrong that he has done," Clarence Young, the victim’s grandfather, said.

“I love my son. I wish he was here, ain’t nothing gone bring him back not even the time they gave him it just could have been more time,” Bryant said.

Bryant has had a difficult year since the death of her son. She was charged in a hotel robbery and is on house arrest, but she said she has vowed to turn her life around - and keep working hard for her son.
