LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A 16-year-old accused of killing a grandmother will be tried as an adult.
The teen pleaded not guilty on Monday, Dec. 2, while his family sat and cried in court as the charges were read.
Booker appeared in adult court on Monday, Dec. 2, for the first time facing murder and robbery charges.
As the teen walked into court his family sat, filled with emotion. Heartbroken to see what was happening--they declined to be interviewed.
After a year unsolved the murder of Cynthia Johnson now has a suspect.
Johnson's daughter spoke out to us in 2012 and she was pleading for the killer to come forward. Johnson was gunned down in front of several other women as they left a store on their way to a women's meeting at church.
Her family says two guys followed them from the store and robbed them.
Booker is charged with complicity to murder and his arrest slip says there are co-defendants. It's unclear if any other arrests have been made.
