LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Louisville woman was arraigned Wednesday morning at Metro Corrections for multiple counts of burglary, fraudulent use of a credit card and engaging in organized crime.
Lashanda Jefferson, 31, was arrested Tuesday afternoon at her mother’s home in Louisville. She is one of seven women police said was involved in string of burglaries at five hospitals in St. Matthews, Audubon Park and Downtown Louisville.
Six of the suspects, who are all women, are still missing - all of them are Jefferson’s sisters.
Police said the women walked into patient rooms and offices at the hospitals on various occasions before Christmas last year and took wallets, purses and credit cards. They allegedly spent more than $10,000 of stolen money at department stores and gas stations.
Jefferson made a full confession to the crime after her arrest, police said, and now they urging the other suspects to turn themselves in to authorities.
Police are currently looking for Anjenette Jefferson, 33, Donnika Jefferson, 30, Adrienne Talbott, 24, Nicole Jefferson, 28, Teyanna (Jefferson) Locke and April Jefferson, 20. (Click on the name to see a photo.)
