LOUISVILLE, Ky. – One man was injured in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 64 in Floyd County Wednesday afternoon.
The Lafayette Township Fire Department says a pickup truck crashed into rocks, rolled over several times and came to a rest across all lanes of traffic.
The vehicle lost one of its front wheels, part of an axle and its truck topper, causing it to spill all of its contents across the interstate.
The driver, who was not named, had to be extracted from the vehicle and was rushed to University of Louisville Hospital with head injuries. The extent of those injuries is not known.
The eastbound lanes of I-64 were closed for about 45 after 2:00 while crews cleaned up the accident.
