JEFFERSON CO., Ind. (WHAS11) -- A Sunday morning crash in Jefferson County, Ind. has left one person injured and another dead.
Indiana State Police said around 3:25 a.m. a 2003 Suzuki SUV driven by 19-year-old Tre’ Colber of Madison was westbound on S.R. 256 when for unknown reasons the vehicle left the roadway and struck a traffic sign, then a utility pole and finally came to rest on its top.
Colber was pronounced dead at the scene and police said passenger in the vehicle, 19-year-old Bailey Owens of Hanover, was transported to Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison with non life-threatening injuries.
Police said they are doing routine alcohol and drug testing, but neither is suspected to be a factor in the crash.
