LOUISVILLE, Ky -- A man has been arrested following a fatal accident involving a motorcycle late Wednesday night.
According to police, a motorcycle with two people on it was driving south on Industrial Blvd near Fern Valley Road when a Nissan Altima crossed the center lane and struck the motorcycle.
The driver of the motorcycle, identified by the coroner as 62-year-old Phillip Frey, was killed and the passenger suffered injuries but is expected to be OK. Frey was rushed to University Hospital, where he died.
Late Wednesday afternoon, police charged the driver of that Altima with several felonies. Genaro Herrera Hernandez is charged with murder, assault, wanton endangerment, DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.
Police say a witness saw him walking away from the accident shortly after it happened, but police were eventually able to track him down.
This accident was one of two fatal motorcycle wrecks Wednesday night.
Another motorcycle driver was killed at Lower Hunters Trace and Triplett. Police said it appears the driver, later identified as 23-year-old Victor Williams, lost control and ran off the road. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.
