Case against Walmart developers dismissed

LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) – There is a big development from the Bridgewater family, the family that purchased the land at 18th and Broadway for the now failed Walmart property.

Their case was dismissed which means the Bridgewaters--owners of NewBridge Development LLC--who already paid tens of thousands of dollars investing in that space won’t have to keep fighting legal fees.

WHAS11’s Terry Meiners received confirmation a few minutes ago:

“The lawsuit filed by Steve Porter and the preservationists was dismissed in Circuit Court by Judge Olu Stevens in November 2015.  The plaintiffs appealed the dismissal to the Court of Appeals in December 2015.  The Court of Appeals dismissed their appeal on Friday, Oct 28th.  The defendants were Metro Louisville Gov, NewBridge Development LLC (me and Frank), and Walmart.”
