LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A big thank you goes out to WHAS11 viewers who helped raise money and awareness about brain aneurysms in honor of the late Chuck Olmstead.
It was the 8th year for the Chuck Olmstead Memorial Fund Telethon.
Olmstead’s wife Candy says they’ve raised $2,500.
One hundred percent of the money goes toward funding brain screenings for aneurysms.
“I thank you Louisville, so much, we’re going to save more lives this year,” she said.
Olmstead was just 60 years old when he died from a ruptured brain aneurysm in March 2009.
Candy created the memorial fund in his honor, paying for the screenings.
The free screenings are being held on Sunday, Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Harold Workman North Wing Hall B of the Kentucky Expo Center.
Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
