So much food is wasted every single day, but did you know you can freeze almost anything and use it later? Follow me on this one and think outside the box a bit...
1. Chick Stock: When you have half a carton of chicken stock left over, freeze it into ice cube trays then pop it into a freezer bag. When the next recipe calls for stock, simply throw in a few of the ice cubes. (You can do the same with other liquids too, like buttermilk or pesto.)
2. Tomato Paste: If you have leftover tomato paste, you can dollop it by the tablespoon onto wax paper. Then, freeze on a cookie sheet and once it's frozen pop it into a freezer bag for later.
3. Fruits & Veggies: Don't let those go to waste! When you find a great deal, pick it up and then freeze it. I chop up peppers and green onions all the time and store them in freezer bags. Then, when I'm thinking fajitas', I grab the bag and cook away! If you're an Aldi shopper, you likely find those great deals all the time but just aren't sure if you would use it before it goes bad. Freezing takes it to a whole other level!
I'm just all about the freezing thing lately mostly because as a single mom, I'm really only cooking for myself so wasting food has become an issue--which means wasting money has become an issue too. What are some of the foods you like to freeze?
