Halloween is nearly here and it's time to start thinking about costumes and candy! Candy is the biggest challenge next to costumes during Halloween, the cost is high and if you live in a high traffic neighborhood then you could be out some mega money. Here are a few tips to help you survive this Halloween.

{5 Ways to Have a Half Price Halloween}

1. Coupons: Do I even have to say this? Matching coupons with sales will land you the best deals and right now, there are candy coupons available and tons of sales to match them with. To find coupons, visit our Coupon Database. To find sales, check out our Coupon Matchup page.

2. Candy Alternatives: No, you don't have to be THAT house passing out toothbrushes and raisins but you could opt for another kind of fun option like stamps or tattoos. My absolute favorite thing to pass out every year are glow sticks, necklaces and bracelets. I actually buy them months ahead on clearance and pass them out on Halloween. It's great because the kids love them and the parents do too!

3. Coupon Books: Grab those awesome free frosty coupon books from Wendy's for only $1 and pass out coupons for free frosty's! I LOVE these. They're cheap, the proceeds benefit the Dave Thomas Foundation and seriously, who doesn't love a frosty?

4. Homemade Decorations: Use balloons and streamers for your Halloween night decorations. For only a few dollars, you could decorate your entire porch or house. For outside decorations, enlist your kids and have them cut and draw pumpkins and ghosts. You can then have them laminated very cheaply at your local teacher store.

5. Homemade Costumes: Visit Pinterest for an insane amount of ideas for this and call your friends and family too. Many of us have kids that have outgrown costumes or might have leftover items that would work for your homemade costume this year.

No matter what your plans are for Halloween, it doesn't have to break the bank!
