It's that time of year, we (as parents) get to look at those lunchboxes every day and try to make an ordinary sandwich look special. Just this morning I was thinking, "What on earth am I going to do?" Recently, we did a segment full of cute ideas for back-to-school lunches that cost less than $1 each. You can watch the video at the end of this post. Check out each of the links below for awesome ideas that won't break the bank!

{Brown Bag Lunches}

Chinese Takout:  Add Goldfish to the chinese takeout container then add a few Peanut Butter and Jelly sushi rolls, grapes and of course, a fortune cookie.

To make the sushi roll you flatten a piece of bread with a rolling pin- cut off the crusts. Cover with P, B and J and then just roll it out. Don't go too close to the edge though otherwise it will all squish out.. trust me... I've done it!

Pencil Box Lunch:  Place inside the box:  fruit, chips and a sandwich cut into dinosaur (or other cookie cutter) shapes. Easy and frugal!

Repurposed Pringles Can:  This Lays Stax can contains a complete meal. We have fruit on a skewer, ham and cheese and for dessert--fruit snacks and marshmallows. This one is a big hit with my boys.

Craft Box Lunch:  I bought a craft box on clearance and inside I am serving a funny sandwich, ranch and carrots, a puzzle apple and a pudding snack. The puzzle apple is a brainteaser- the kids try to figure out how to put it together.

Jazzed Up Brown Bag:  Inside:  a sandwich with a little personality,  a Cutie, and look at these Baby Bell cheeses- a little boy and girl!

Check out the segment below for pictures of every lunch idea. Sorry guys, we tried taking actual pictures of every item but as you can see from the pics above, there were a lot of shadows. The ideas are super cute though and look much better in the video!TulsaCW.com: TV To Talk About | The Tulsa CW
