(WHAS11) The Louisville Metro Fire Department is hiring; seeking people who can handle a very rewarding, but demanding job.
To apply you must be 18 years old, have a high school diploma and be in good physical condition.
One fire official said the job is all about a sense of community.
“It’s something that you understand right away. You have to be dedicated and committed; not only to the job and to the profession, but to the people that work with you in the community that you serve.”
The fire department said it is a lengthy hiring process. You will have to go through physical and written exams, background checks and interviews.
The deadline for applications is January 8, 2010.
