Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft features new exhibition

Louisville, KY - The First Juried Member Artists Exhibition, which is designed to showcase the breadth and depth of artist members artistic expression, opens with a free public reception on Friday, January 9, 2009 from 5 -7:30 p.m. and will continue through Saturday, February 21, 2009 in the Steve Wilson and Street Galleries.
The exhibit represents a rich and diverse collection of work, ranging from traditional to innovative explorations of art and craft styles. The show will showcase 90 pieces, including paintings, prints, drawings, ceramics, glass, turned wood, baskets, glass jewelry, books, rugs, wall hangings, sculpture and other mixed media works. All the artwork included is recently produced, often being exhibited for the first time.
The 2009 KMAC Member Exhibition is open to all dues-paying Artist Members of the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft.
About the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft
The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft is a nonprofit organization founded in 1981. Its mission is to promote and support art and craft excellence in Kentucky.
The Museum is supported in part by the Fund for the Arts and the Kentucky Arts Council, a state arts agency that supports the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft with state tax dollars and federal funding through the Kentucky Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission.
It is open Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or by appointment. Admission is $5 for adults, free for members, students and children under 12.
