Association of Community Ministries Press Release

Louisville – With the New Year fast approaching, there is a new calendar out that will not only highlight attractions of Metro Louisville but also help the Association of Community Ministries raise fund for their many programs aimed at assisting residents of this community.

“If you are proud of Louisville and want to show the city off to others, I can think of no better way than then 2007 Louisville Calendar,” says Majority Leader Jim King (D) 10.

The 2007 Louisville Calendar is now on sale for the holiday season. At a cost of $15.00 per calendar, 90 percent of the profits go to help the Association..

“This calendar is away for many people to help a great organization that helps in at times of need for people of all ages,” says Minority Leader Robin Engel, (R) 22. “The Association of Community Ministries is a selfless group that offers comfort and emergency aid to the less fortunate.”

The Association is made up of 15 organizations that serve from Shively to Jeffersontown. The Ministries serve downtown, east end, west end and southwest Jefferson County.

The 2007 calendar features the photography of 12 signature locations in Metro Louisville. Among the areas highlighted, historic Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby, Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium and Light Up Louisville and much more.

The calendar also features maps of downtown restaurants and entertainment sites. It also provides local telephone number and websites to learn about Metro Government and other agencies.

But the main goal of the calendar is to help the Association.

“The association helps with emergency food, clothing and rent assistance,” says King. “They also do so much more to help with utility bills and medications.”

“They also have a variety of education and support services for youth, families and senior citizens,” says Engel.
