LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) – For Catholics that want to eat meat on St. Patrick’s Day you can now do so thanks in part to a dispensation from the Louisville Archdiocese.
In honor of the holiday, Archbishop Joseph Kurtz issued a dispensation to Catholics. It will allow Catholics to transfer their abstinence from meat on Friday, March 17, to another day that week.
Catholics observe Lent from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday.
