LMPD: Driver may have been impaired while speeding on Beckley Station Road
06:54 PM EST on Wednesday, November 19, 2008
(WHAS11) - Two young men are dead after their car crashed into a tree in Middletown, very near their homes. LMPD says a red Mitsubishi ran off the road and crashed into a tree about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday. The impact killed 18-year-old Cody Carver, and 19-year-old Matthew Wilson. It happened at the 1000 block of south Beckley Station Road, which is a narrow, winding road.
Norb Peak says he’s seen half a dozen accidents on Beckley Station Road where he’s lived for nearly 40 years.
“I’ve seen them run off the road down here and run into the culvert down there and down on that way further someone has hit a tree but I haven’t seen anyone get killed,” says Peak.
LMPD says the driver may have been impaired while speeding.
The cause of this accident is still under investigation.
