Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - One person is dead and another hospitalized after a double shooting in Louisville on Wednesday morning.

25-year-old Martess Bethel was pronounced dead at 4:40 a.m. by EMS.

An autopsy revealed that Bethel died of multiple gun shot wounds.

It happened in an apartment near Fourth and Gaulbert.  Police say two men in their 20’s were shot in a 3rd floor apartment at the Reeser Court Apartments around 4:30 a.m.

There was apparently a party going on, when a fight broke out.  The other person was taken to University Hospital.

Residents say there is gang and drug activity in the neighborhood, but police say they haven’t confirmed that in this case

There is a white Surburban in question that has been cordoned-off with crime scene tape as police continue to investigate, but so far there are no suspects.
