WHAS-TV “POP QUIZ”

OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES

1. No purchase is necessary.
2. You must be at least eighteen (18) years old and a legal resident of Kentucky and Indiana at the time of entry to win.
3. Sweepstakes is subject to all federal, state and local laws. Void where prohibited by law. By entering, participants agree to these Official Rules.
4. Daily Prize Winners, Monday – Friday. A winner may only win once each calendar month.
5. Only one (1) entry per household.
6. Contest begins on January 14, 2008 at 12:00 pm. and ends on December 31, 2008 at 1:00 pm Eastern Standard Time.
7. The geographic scope of this promotion is the State of Kentucky and the State of Indiana. The sponsor of this Contest is WHAS-TV, Belo Kentucky, Inc.
8. The odds of winning depend on the number of calls received that are answered incorrectly.

PRIZES
9. Description of prizes: Prizes will vary daily from WHAS-TV merchandise to other possible sponsor-related merchandise. Approximate retail value of each of the Prizes ranges from $1 to $75.
10. All federal, state and other taxes relating to any prize, and any travel, hotel accommodations or other expenses relating to any prize, are the sole responsibility of the winners.
11. Prizes are not transferable, substitutable, or exchangeable for cash except that WHAS-TV in its discretion may substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Any such changes will be announced. If any of the winners fail to meet any eligibility requirement herein, there will be no winner for that day and no prize will be given for that day.

ELIGIBILITY
12. No purchase is necessary. Winners of any contest at WHAS-TV in the last 30 days are ineligible
13. All winners must be eighteen (18) years old and legal residents of Kentucky or Indiana at the time of entry.
14. Employees of WHAS-TV, Belo Kentucky, Inc., and of the affiliates, subsidiaries, distributors, suppliers, franchisees, advertisers, promoters, and agents of any of these, and the immediate families of the employees of any of these, are not eligible.

TO PLAY
15. Watch WHAS11NEWS @ NOON each weekday from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. Watch for the “Pop Quiz” contest question.  The eleventh person to call 502-571-1111 and answer the “Pop Quiz” contest question correctly will win the designated prize for that day.
16. If you answer the question correctly, you will be asked by WHAS-TV to provide your name, address, telephone number and age and you will be asked to come to WHAS-TV, 520 West Chestnut Street, Louisville, KY 40202 during regular business hours 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 pm.  Each winner must provide WHAS-TV with valid identification and execute an affidavit of eligibility. Valid identification includes a valid driver’s license or other valid picture ID showing name and address. Faxes will not be accepted. The winners may also be required to sign other legal documents, including tax forms and a release supplied by WHAS-TV, which, among other disclaimers, releases WHAS-TV, Belo Kentucky, Inc., and a range of subsidiaries, directors, agents, agencies, affiliates, franchisees, promoters, officers, directors, employees and related persons from any and all liability related to this Sweepstakes and the receipt and use of the prize. The information provided becomes the property of WHAS-TV.  If WHAS-TV is unable to speak directly to a winner within five (5) days from initial attempted notification, WHAS-TV in its sole discretion may disqualify that winner or remove the prize from the Sweepstakes.
17.  WHAS-TV, Belo Kentucky, Inc., their affiliates, subsidiaries or agencies will not be responsible for the inability to select winners because of postal failure, equipment failure, data storage failure, or for the inability to air the Pop Quiz questions because of breaking news events, news program preemption, or equipment failure.

18. All federal, state and local laws apply. Sponsors shall be entitled to interpret these rules as needed — including but not limited to rules regarding entries, selection of winner, deadlines, restrictions on prizes, and eligibility — and all of their decisions are final. By entering, participants agree to these Official Rules. WHAS-TV reserves the right to cancel, terminate or suspend this contest or any part of this contest should any non-authorized intervention, network failure, information storage failure, telecommunications failure, malfunction, or other causes beyond its control, corrupt or impair the security, administration, fairness and/or operation of this contest as determined by WHAS-TV in its sole discretion. WHAS-TV, Belo Kentucky, Inc., are not responsible for lost, interrupted, or unavailable network, server, or other connections, or for any failed telephone or computer hardware or software, or for any failed, delayed, misdirected, corrupted, or garbled transmissions or errors of any kind, whether human, mechanical, or electronic, or for entries that for any reason are not received by WHAS-TV by the deadline stated above. WHAS-TV, Belo Kentucky, Inc. are also not responsible for any injury or damage to any computer, modem or other electrical device as a result of participation in this sweepstakes or downloading of any software or materials.

22. Any person attempting to defraud or tamper with this contest in any way will be ineligible for prizes and may be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
