LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- It's the biggest high school rivalry on the gridiron in Kentucky Friday as Trinity takes on St. X!
Some 35,000 fans are expected to head out to Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. Friday’s game will be the last showdown with the Rocks for Tigers’ head coach Mike Glaser, who is retiring after 31 years.
Glaser said the Trinity/St. X game face off is always a memorable game.
Trinity has won the past four match-ups, but St. X holds the series edge with one game. The game kicks off tonight at 8.
The St. X and Trinity game is not the only big school rivalry in Kentuckiana Friday.
The biggest rivalry in Southern Indiana kicks off as well. The Red Devils will take on the Bulldogs at Jeffersonville High School at 7 p.m.
This year the Jeffersonville and New Albany rivalry has an interesting twist. Jeffersonville Mayor Mike Moore has issued a “bet” with New Albany Mayor Jeff Gahan.
Moore said he wants the losing team's mayor to clean the holding tank of the winning city's sewer system. We don't know if Gahan accepted the bet, but Moore said Jeffersonville is favored to beat New Albany by 19 points.
