Seniors Jeff Arnold and Adam Duvall have been selected as team captains for the University of Louisville baseball team for the 2010 season. The selections were voted on by the Cardinal players and coaches.

Arnold, a senior catcher and a Louisville native, started 56 games for the Cardinals last year with a .246 batting average, three home runs and 32 RBI. The Male High School graduate earned All-BIG EAST Tournament honors after hitting .412 with two home runs and six RBI in five games as the Cards won their second straight tournament title.

Duvall, a senior second baseman and another Louisville native, started all 65 games in his first season in the Cardinals’ uniform after transferring from Chipola Junior College. A graduate of Butler High School, he hit .328 with 11 home runs and 53 RBI and scored a team-leading 83 runs to earn Third Team All-BIG EAST honors.

The Cardinals swept the BIG EAST regular season and tournament titles last season to earn their third straight NCAA appearance. They also advanced to an NCAA Super Regional for the third time in three seasons and finished with a top 15 national ranking with a 47-18 record overall.

Louisville will open the 2010 season on Feb. 19 at 2 p.m. ET, in the first three games against Bowling Green at Jim Patterson Stadium.
