The victim of a hit-and-run on Friday night died at University Hospital Saturday.

Police say 37-year-old Nuril Papapietro of Goshen, Kentucky was struck by a white or very light colored, 90s model Pontiac minivan or a crossover SUV.

A witness told police that he saw a woman stumble and fall while crossing Baxter Ave. around 7:00 p.m. Friday night.  That driver avoided striking the woman, but the vehicle directly behind him ran over the fallen woman and continued southbound.

The vehicle that struck the woman may have sustained front end damage.

Police encourage anyone with information about this accident to call their anonymous tipline at 547-LMPD.
