Swine flu death reported in Lexington

Health officials in Lexington are reporting a second swine flu death, bringing the state's total to five.

  

The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department reported the death on Monday. A statement says the 60-year-old woman had significant underlying health conditions.

 

State Health Commissioner William Hacker has said Kentucky is experiencing widespread swine flu activity and is preparing for an immunization campaign in the weeks ahead.

  

Kentucky also has reported swine flu-related deaths in Jefferson, Caldwell and Christian counties.
