(WHAS11)-Letters were on the minds of Kentuckiana students Saturday. They were hoping to get to the top spot at the Derby Festival spelling bee.
Students from at least 70 counties attended the event Saturday morning at the Frazier International History Museum.
Organizers say it's a great opportunity to highlight Kentuckiana's youth.
11-year-old Emily Keaton from Pikeville won today by correctly spelling "sclerosis.” Emily won a ten-thousand dollars savings bond.
