Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - The race for Louisville's mayor is getting a little more crowded.
Shannon White officially announced her candidacy for mayor Wednesday morning.
The democratic candidate founded Dress for Success Louisville and was previously a president of Y-Pal, the young professionals association.
She also served as the finance director for Congressman John Yarmuth.
White acknowledges the other candidates have a jump on fundraising but she is excited for the future.
“That vision that I have is for opportunity for the entire city to come together. I see opportunities for small businesses and jobs, growth in the economy. I see opportunities for young professionals and for new people to get involved,” says White.
David Tandy, Jim King, Tyler Allen, Greg Fischer, Chris Thieneman and Hal Heiner have already announced that they are running for mayor.
