(WHAS11)- A Richmond man who lost the first leg of the triple crown of racing came in first in the Rodes City Run Saturday.
29-year-old Jacob Korir finished the Rodes City Run in thirty minutes and 49 seconds.
Taking first place for the women was 39-year-old Liliya Yadzhak of Hebron, Kentucky. This is her first race in Louisville.
Korir says he thinks the good weather helped him push ahead for this race.
“Coming to a race like this after losing two weeks ago, you don't expect to win. But after the 3-4 mile I was still at the top," says Jacob Korir.
Both plan to run in the Papa John's 10-miler. That is on April 3rd.
