(WHAS11) – Authorities confirm that two people are dead, a mother and her son, after a shooting at the Whispering Woods apartment complex near the Rubbertown area.
The shooting happened just before 5 p.m. on Thursday in the 4600 block of Tipsy Circle off Cane Run Road.
Neighbors say that a mother and her two sons live in the apartment where the shooting happened. They also say that around 5 p.m., they heard 7-8 gunshots.
One of the victims was found dead in a breezeway of the apartment complex.
Police say at this time, they have no direct witnesses, but they are talking to residents of the apartment complex.
Police found a gun at the scene, but it's not clear if it was used in the shootings. They alsoroped off an area near a dumpster, where they found a stained matress.
Authorities say they don't have any suspects so far and are asking anyone with any information to call 574-LMPD.
