(WHAS11) - A couple from Jeffersontown lived a double life, according to police.
Reginald Forsythe is accused of leading a large crime group with drugs and guns and is locked up at Metro Corrections, but not without a fight from his lawyer.
"I would ask the court, I've been before this court for years and million dollar bonds don't even go to people charged with murder," said Forsythe's lawyer.
His lawyer argued to reduce his heavy bond down to $10,000 but the judge called the accused drug ring leader a major risk with a fugitive record.
"A million dollars judge?" asked Forsythe lawyer.
Jefferson County judge answered:
"I appreciate it but do believe the judge who set it at $10,000 had new information that came before the court. Set it to a million over your objection," said the Jefferson County judge.
Forsythe is behind bars on a $1 million cash bond until his next appearance in court.
Police busted his rental home at the 4200 block of Farm Place in a quiet Jeffersontown neighborhood on Wednesday.
Detectives found more than 5,000 ecstasy pills, 1,500 Opana pills, heroin, marijuana and a gun.
It all totals around $150,000.
Police reports said Forsythe and his girlfriend, Mahogany Calvin, had large amounts of pills on them in a car when they were caught.
It also said Forsythe threw down the pills and ran from police.
They were accused of leading a major organized crime group including four others: Joseph Thompson, Darion Thodile, Troy Morris and Gavin Antoine.
Neighbors said Calvin would pass herself off as a hair stylist looking for new clients.
"She cut hair and put a few flyers in our mailbox a couple times and asked us to bring our kids to get a haircut," said neighbor Misty Albrecht.
Sources tell WHAS11 News that Calvin worked as a hair stylist at Regis Smart Style Salon in Fern Creek and that they were suspicious when she would drive to work in a different car each week; a couple Hummers, BMW, Mercedes and a Cadillac.
Police say those vehicles were bought with drug money worth a quarter of a million dollars.
Forsythe is due back in court at the end of the month.
