(WHAS11)-The principal talked to students Thursday morning in the auditorium about the marijuana incident.
Calling it an unfortunate incident, saying students involved are paying severe consequences.
This parent’s reaction after reading this letter student here at Jefferson County Traditional Middle School were given to take home today.
In it principal Mark Rose explains says 9 of his students made bad choices involving marijuana inside the school.
Those 9 students suspended after school officials say they were connected to either selling, buying, or handling marijuana.
Delisa Love's son goes to JCTMS. Today was the first time she's heard all of the details, but says she got concerned yesterday when her son came home and told her he saw police.
Love says she's glad she got the letter but thinks it should have come sooner.
The school says they took action quick and the decision to suspend was swift.
Principal Rose says along with the suspensions he's recommended the 9 students be removed and put in an alternative school.
Kirk Miller found out when he picked up his son from school this afternoon.
“It’s very young it’s crazy when I was that age I wasn't thinking about marijuana,” says Kirk Miller/Parent.
As for Delisa Love she says hearing about the marijuana and suspensions has left her wondering what should come next.
