(WHAS11) - One man is dead after an accident on the Gene Snyder during the Tuesday morning commute.
I-265 southbound near Westport Road closed for two hours when an SUV went off the road around 8:00 Tuesday morning.
Three men were inside the vehicle.
One passenger in his mid-20s was pronounced dead on the scene.
The driver and other passenger are being treated at University Hospital.
"According to witnesses, a blue Ford Explorer was apparently trying to switch lanes and lost control, possibly tried to over correct and went off the road where the vehicle flipped several times," says LMPD Spokesperson Dwight Mitchell.
LMPD says no other vehicles were involved.
They don't expect any charges to be filed, but say they are still investigating.
