(WHAS11) - New charges have been filed against the Louisville man accused of keeping his mother's body in her house for six months after she died.
52 year-old Julius Harris barricaded himself inside his mother's home when police showed up to check on the 89 year-old earlier this month.
Harris gave himself up and officers found his mother's body inside a back bedroom.
Late Monday a Grand Jury indicted Harris on five felony charges for cashing his mother's social security checks after her death and illegally selling a house she owned on Grand Avenue using her power of attorney.
In all, detectives believe Harris got at least $34,000 from his dead mother.
He also faces a misdemeanor charge of abuse of a corpse.
