(WHAS11) - Bullitt County Police are still talking to potential victims of sexual predators and two more men could be arrested for soliciting underage girls and luring them with drugs.
Two men have already been arrested by the Pioneer Village Police. Chief of police, David Greenwell said, “We have the lowest crime rates in the county and bad things do happen but certainly you would think that it would develop into what it has developed.”
Pioneer Village Police are dealing with several cases of adult men being sexually involved with girls ages 12 to 14. The police believe that not all the cases are connected, but the victims and suspects are familiar with each other. The victims and suspects are also supposed to be located in the North Bullitt County area.
Police say initial meetings between the suspects and victims took place at a movie theatre off Preston Highway and the Snyder. “I don’t think it’s going to be connected to the internet as much as we thought but maybe more to this movie place up here,” Greenwell said.
The police have learned that the suspects lure the victims with drugs like oxycotin, alcohol and marijuana. “They’ve been befriending them at the movie houses,” Greenwell said, “They make them think they are in love with them so if they get caught they will not tell on them.”
Parents and Grandparents in the community are alarmed and some have already addressed their concerns. Clinton Stiles, a local grandfather went to the movie theater to talk to the manager about picking kids up.
Another local grandmother, Connie Allen, said, “I think it’s terrible but I am not shocked these things happen more often than not any more, we have a 10-year-old girl and don’t let her go anywhere alone.”
Police say there could be a total of six to seven victims and that some of the sexual encounters were not consensual.
