City crews work around the clock to prepare the roads for drivers. Meanwhile, JCPS waiting until 4:00 a.m. to make a decision about classes.
"Ready to work?" "Ready to work!" said one Metro Louisville employee. "Work" they have... and "work" they will.
City crews began treating the roads at 7:00 a.m. Monday morning and when night fell, the night crews loaded up on salt and headed out to work. The city says roads are pretty well covered.
"With the salting we did this past weekend there's already a coating of some of that still left behind," said City Spokesperson Lindsay English.
These crews will work through the night and have extras on standby ready to call out if needed.
And JCPS will cruise the streets in the wee hours of the morning before deciding whether to call off school.
"We very seldom call it off on prediction. We wait until we see snow on the ground," said JCPS Director of Transportation Rick Caple.
That's what the city's doing. We caught up with a few people to see what they're doing to prepare for Tuesday's weather.
"I work construction so it's kind of a win-win situation. I'm off for weather so I get to enjoy it too," said Rob Eaton.
"Since you drive for a living what's your advice for other drivers?" asked WHAS 11 News Reporter Adrianna Hopkins.
"To drive as slow as they can. If they don't have to go out... don't go anywhere," said Anita Trowel who works for TARC.
