Kentuckian Matt Hodges' new song “What is Christmas” was inspired by those serving in the military.

Hodge, a graduate student at Campbellsville University, wrote the song which was then recorded by the chamber choir from his school.

Hodge said the song was inspired by the parents of one of his professors, who were apart during war time.

"As soon as I knew an idea we wanted to go with I went home and wrote it in 30 minutes,” Hodge said. “I was very excited and [it’s] such a timely thing to show support to the troops and the families that some people forget about around the holidays.”
