(WHAS11) –  If the Indiana governor has his way, Hoosier colleges and universities could offer three-year bachelor degrees.

Governor Mitch Daniels says three-year degrees would allow students to push fast-forward on their college careers.

Two Indiana schools, Ball State and Manchester College, already offer an accelerated degree program.

Cutting one- fourth of school could save some students up to $25,000.
