LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- The holiday travel rush is on in Kentucky as people head for airports, bus stations and the highways to make their way to families and friends for Thanksgiving.
Louisville International Airport spokeswoman Trish Burke says lines are relatively short for travelers going through security Wednesday morning.
Burke says flights at Louisville are "relatively full." At Louisville's downtown Greyhound station, student Cathy Smith waited patiently to catch a bus to spend Thanksgiving with her family in Tennessee.
Smith has flown home in the past, but her grandparents decided on a cheaper bus ticket this year. The bus station was quiet Wednesday morning, with about a half-dozen travelers waiting.
