LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)- Former Agriculture Commissioner Richie Farmer is now returning property to the state that the state did not even know he had.

The attorney general says Farmer returned seven rifles to the Department of Agriculture along with missing state computer equipment. Those guns were meant to be given as gifts to visiting agricultural commissioners.

The current agriculture commissioner, James Comer,  is now auditing Farmer's tenure as commissioner.

The guns were not state property.
