CLARKSVILLE, Ind. (PRESS RELEASE) – A Clarksville School bus delivery in the Blackston Heights neighborhood was temporarily halted Thursday afternoon.

There was a youth spotted in the Blackston Heights neighborhood at approximately 3:30 p.m. on a bicycle who may have had a weapon.

As a result, Clarksville Schools temporarily stopped bus delivery only in the Blackston Heights neighborhood until police were able to give the all clear.
Police were dispatched to the area, and the children were being held on the busses until an all clear was given by Clarksville Police at 3:52 p.m.

The suspect, who was said to have a BB gun, is now in the custody of Clarksville Police.

Clarksville Schools superintendent said that it was a fortunate situation that no one was hurt.

“We want to thank the Clarksville Administrators, specifically Scott Gardner, the Clarksville Transportation Department , specifically Mr. Leon Stocksdale, our bus drivers in the Blackston Heights neighborhood and the Clarksville Police Department,” Clarksville Schools Superintendent Kimberly Knott said. “We are very fortunate the children are safe and sound at home and that no injuries occurred.”
