(WHAS11) - A Louisville civil rights organization hopes to meet with Louisville Metro Police Department Chief Robert White today about a weekend officer involved shooting.
“Maybe it took Donnie's death for people to realize what's going on out here at Iroquois with Police,” said Sharon Davis, who lives in Iroquois Park.
On Saturday night, police shot and killed Donnie Miles at Iroquois Homes.
Police say Miles – who had a history of mental illness – threatened the officers with a hammer and had been in trouble with police before.
Currently, the four LMPD officers involved in the shooting are on routine paid administrative leave.
None of the officers had more than three years of experience on the force.
