Poll:
Do you think Charlie Strong is a good choice for U of L's coach?
(WHAS11) _ Florida's Charlie Strong is still considered to be the front-runner for Louisville's open coaching job and WHAS11 News is hearing from U of L President Jim Ramsey on the search.
He told us that he agrees with the firing of Coach Steve Kragthorpe.
What about a new coach?
It is widely believed that the number one candidate U of L is pursuing for the head football coaching vacancy is Charlie Strong.
He's currently the defensive coordinator for the University of Florida.
But, based on what U of L President James Ramsey told WHAS11 News that they are checking into several possibilities.
“Well we said we had a number of people that we've been looking at and doing background checks. But we really wouldn't talk to anyone until after the completion of their season. Many of the seasons end this weekend and then we'll try to move as quickly as we can,” he said.
Although U of L's season ended last weekend, some teams will be playing in conference championship games this weekend. Florida is one of them.
