SHEPEHERDSVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A 19-year-old Kentucky woman planning to marry in just four months was tragically killed in a car accident in Shepherdsville. Now her family is speaking out about the short,  yet, inspiring life she led with the hope her message can reach others.

"She was just the sparkle and joy of my life she really was, " grandfather Steven Pugh said.

Crystal Marie Simpson was wise beyond her years and her faith ran deep.

"She was the best niece that ever lived and I loved her and she is in a better place right now," Carolyn Pugh, Simpson's aunt, said.

Her grandfather and her aunt spoke from their Mt. Washington home about the simple acts of kindness that guided Simpson's life.

Simpson was driving on Highway 480 on her way to work at Zappos Sunday when she over corrected her car and it was hit by an oncoming SUV. She died at the scene. Her wedding was set to take place in June, her fiance who is currently at the seminary studying to become a pastor.

"I don't think any of us could ever know the reason why and it wouldn't do any good to ask that question," says Pugh.

Simpson was attending Jefferson Community College. She was active in her church and looking forward to her new life as a wife, and hopefully a mother.

"She would say she wants her brothers and sisters , all of her family to continue living. Go to church , get the grief out but keep on loving life and remembering her and keep on living," says Pugh

All those involved in the crash were wearing their seat belts. No drugs or alcohol are believed to be involved.

Many local businesses and total strangers are helping the family pay for the funeral which is planned at Cedar Grove Baptist on Friday in Shepherdsville. They are asking that all donations be taken there.
