(WHAS11) - The cargo ship that tore off a 332 foot section of a Western Kentucky bridge is set to be repaired in the nearby town of Paducah.

Part of the Eggners Ferry Bridge was stuck onto the front of that ship when the accident happened last month. The bridge carries traffic to the land between the Lakes National Recreation Area.

The ship's handrails and deck will need to be repaired and must pass an inspection before heading back to Cape Canaveral, Florida where it was hauling rocket parts for NASA and the U.S. Air Force.
