(WHAS11) - What some say started as a fight between two middle school students ends with a mother and son shot and killed.

Steveonte Wood, 14, goes to Farnsely Middle School. He says he and another student got into a scuffle Thursday over a basketball game and he injured his arm.

He says his older brother broke up the fight and believes the other boy went home and told his family that Steve, Stevonte’s older brother, pulled a gun on him, which Stevonte says isn't true.

Stevonte says after that initial fight, the boy from school showed up at his home in the Whispering Woods apartment complex off Cane Run Road with his mother and father. He says the father was armed and started firing shots.

Stevonte's mother and brother were killed. His mother couldn't run for cover, she'd had a stroke and needed a walker to get around. Stevonte says his other family members also witnessed the shootings.

So far, there have been no arrests in this case, but some answers may be provided by video tape.

The Louisville Metro Police Department’s homicide commander says there are surveillance cameras set up at the apartment complex that may have captured part of the shooting.
