(WHAS11) - The 6th grade center for Seymour Community Schools is closed Friday because so many students and staff members are out sick.
The superintendent says that a handful of kids were sick Wednesday afternoon but by Thursday, 70 of the 300 kids were sick along with several teachers.
Superintendent Teran Armstrong says the students and teachers have a gastro-intestinal illness.
They won't be able to confirm exactly what the problem is until tests results come back.
The school staff is disinfecting the building.
